When
selling on eBay there are lots of things which could cause your
item to sell for less and some times not sell at all.
Images:
Every
listing you put on eBay should have images. If you do not own
a camera please save you pennies and buy one before listing. Your
images are the 1st thing people coming to your listing are going
to look at, so make them good.
Do's
-Always include as many images in your listing as possible.
-Make sure your images are clear and fast loading.
-Think about what the buyer may want to see and make sure you
have a image of it, so if you are selling a DVD player make sure
you take a photo of the back to show the connectors.
-When taking photos of your items always display them in a nice
clean environment.
Don’ts
-Try not to use stock images. These images can look better but
they don’t inspire confidence.
-Use very small images.
-Have items in the photo which are not for sale.
Title:
Make
sure your title describes your item/items fully and remember this
is how people find your listing. Pack your title full of key words.
Do your research, look at the listings which are getting the bids.
Wording/Text:
When
writing your listing make it clear what you are selling and do
not write more an you have to. The content you put in you listing
is very important but if no one can read it there is no point
in writing it. With your text keep it simple.
Do's
-Keep
it short and to the point
-Make it clear, what you are selling
-Keep your font size to around 12 and 14.
-Keep your text readable so don’t use a black background
with grey text. Try and stick to white background with black text.
Don’t
-Just copy all your text from the product website.
-Try and be funny
-Have everything in BOLD
Payment:
You
have to
accept paypal! People do not like to wait on there money clearing.
People like to get there item as soon as the can.
Postage:
Do
not charge too much it is possible to make a profit on the postage
but do not go to far because if you charge to much you will put
off buyers.
Category:
Trying
to find which category is best to list in can be hard sometimes.
The best thing to do is check similar items and find where they
are listed. If you can not find the best place to list you can
always list in two categories.
